ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND, a Republican politico in Pittsburgh posted a photo of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass visiting the Steel City.
In the photo, Bass, in blue jeans and Adidas sneakers, is among a crowd strolling by the shops and restaurants of Mount Washington, a neighborhood known for its lively dining and nightlife.
The mayor’s official schedule listed her at that time as “out of state” — with no further details.
So why did Bass travel 2,136 miles east for the long holiday weekend?
The answer likely lies with the bespectacled man by her side in the photo, clad in black slacks and a black shirt.
